Maintaining your trust in us is important to the University of Utah. We each leave a trail of data as we move throughout the digital and physical world. Here at the U of U, our important work intersects with many different privacy laws and regulations. As a state entity, certain Utah- specific privacy laws apply to how we collect, process, and store your information. As a HIPAA Hybrid Covered Entity, federal regulations apply to how we protect and disclose protected health information.

As an institute of higher education, other federal and state laws apply to how we protect student information.
